A long, unabashed ode to failure (no kiddin'?). One more in a long line of "motivational and inspirational" tunes *snicker*.
For better or worse, sometimes I flatly refuse to shorten songs--this one clocks in a 6:00 (although the tempo lags through the first two verses a bit, tacking on a few extra seconds).
lyrics
ever since you were born/you waited for this, wait forlorn
unexpected as you were it's undeniable/glass is empty, ashtray full
count me in on your side/I watch from afar what you cannot hide
all those frightening and criticizing eyes chastise what you've become
all that matters to you is just a matter of fact/all that matters to you is shit you can't get back
and it's a goddamn shame/a goddamn shame
so take your stance, defensive kind/take a swig to undermine/you waited for this/you waited for this/you waited for this/oh you waited for this
as you're suspended, upended and overdue/what will become of you
all that matters to you is just a matter of fact/all that matters to you is shit you can't get back
and it's a goddamn shame/a goddamn shame
